More Beach Family Portraits

Sorry it has taken me so long to get these out, but has been a crazy first week back :).  As promised I have some more beautiful beach family pictures.  Our family is already talking about going back.  These photos were taken in Gulf Shores, AL.

I had planned on getting at least one family picture while we were on vacation, so I packed several outfits that I thought might work.  The most common outfit of choice is khaki and white, but don’t be afraid to stray from that.  I chose white’s, khaki, and shades of blue for my beach family portrait.  Portrait outfits don’t have to be expensive new clothes.  Everything we wore in our photo was something pulled from the closet.

My outfit: white linen pants from Gap, navy shirt from Old Navy

My Husband: khaki shorts from American Eagle, light blue shirt from Express

Norah: blue floral pattern shorts and white tee from Old Navy

Liam: khaki shorts and stripped collar shirt from Old Navy (truck from mama’s toy box 🙂

Gardner Family Portraits on the Beach

My family and I just got back from a much needed vacation!  It has become a tradition to go to Gulf Shores, AL each year for a week.  This year there were 33 family members total; 13 of which were children and 9 of the children were under the age of 7!  We had such a great time and the weather was perfect.  I always take my camera and we were able to get some great pictures on the beach.  Beach photos are so much fun.  I love taking photos on the beach because of the relaxed atmosphere and the beautiful scenery.  Here is a glimpse of the Gardner family beach portrait session…stay tuned for some of the others next week.

Outdoor Maternity Photos

Maternity pictures have become extremely popular recently.  However, it takes a lot of courage and self confidence to get in front of a camera for many expecting mothers.  Heck, many people don’t like being in front of the camera when they aren’t pregnant!   I finally talked my friend/coworker Madison into getting some maternity portraits.  She is just so cute “even though she says she feels huge”.  At 30 weeks I think she is looking pretty darn good!  Take a look at her outdoor maternity session.  What a beautiful location, weather, and soon to be momma 😉

Outdoor Table Top Project

Last fall we had a terrible storm and our outdoor table was thrown from our back patio.  The glass top shattered into a million pieces leaving us with a metal frame.  We debated getting another glass insert, but decided it was too expensive and would most likely end up shattered again!  So…after a trip to Lowe’s and a long conversation with a very helpful Lowe’s employee I settled on a piece of cement board painted with outdoor paint and topped with a polyurethane.

I found a stencil and votives at Michaels.  The votives were my inspiration for color.  In total I spent around $75 dollars in supplies and still have tons of paint for other projects.

Olympic outdoor Paint Colors: Base- Lunar Eclipse, Triangles- Cavalry, Early Spring, Indian Maize, Heirloom Lace

Impromptu Photo Shoot

Several weeks ago we had an impromptu photo shoot that turned out beautifully!  Sometimes the unplanned portrait sessions turn out better than the planned one’s.   Contact me today to schedule a relaxed, fun portrait session for your kiddos.

This is the typical start to most of our photo shoots…me dragging the kids to my designated shooting spot. Just kidding 🙂
