Lily’s 1 Year Portraits

1 year old pictures, Columbia City Photographer

It took a bit for Lily to get warmed up, but once she got going there was no stopping her…literally!  She started showing off and we captured her first step during her 1 year photo session.  Look how surprised mom was.  This session is loaded with the sweetest moments between mother and daughter.  We were even able to get dad in on some of the action. Here are some of my favorite shots and don’t forget to check out all of Lily’s Proofs

Cora’s 1 Year Portraits

I can’t believe this time last year we were taking Cora’s newborn portraits.  It has been such an honor seeing her grow.  Even though we were fighting for every inch of light on this gloomy January afternoon, Cora’s pictures turned out so good!  These are some of my favorite child portraits I’ve taken.  Those eyes are magical and I just can’t stop looking at these portraits.  So glad I was able to capture these precious moments for such great friends.  Here are some of my favorite portraits from Cora’s 1 year session.  Follow the link to see all of Cora’s Proofs.

Collin is 2

2 year old pictures, Columbia City Photographer,

Little Collin is 2!  I can’t believe how big he has gotten.  I photographed Collin with his 3 brothers last year at this time.  This year Collin and I got to spend some one on one time together.  His little face is just too cute…I just love it.  These are some of my favorite shots and I swear he could be in an advertisement.   I was able to capture some great candid pictures of Collin on the go.  He loves trains, Paw Patrol, and Peppa Pig.  So he was really excited when we were able to incorporate some of his favorite things.  Here are some of my favorite portraits of Collin and you can view his entire session here.

The Perfect Gift

Columbia City Newborn Photographer

This newborn photo shoot is one of the most special sessions I have shot to date.   Amanda, LJ’s mom, has been my best friend since high school.  We attended the same college, were in each others weddings, and continue to stay in touch as our lives change and families grow.

We had talked about maternity and newborn portraits and had both scheduled well in advance.  One more task Amanda could cross off her list in preparation for her and Carl’s new addition to the family.  We scheduled her maternity portraits for December 30th and newborn portraits for February 4th.  So you can imagine my surprise when I received a picture of Amanda laying in a hospital bed on Christmas day.  LJ made his appearance 11:30 Christmas night.

LJ was and absolute angel for his newborn portraits and it was so great to be the photographer to capture these precious moments for Carl and Amanda.  There are so many excellent portraits! Here are some of my favorites.  Check out the rest of LJ’s Newborn Session Here.

P.S. I knew they were having a boy!  I shot a newborn session in early July and used antlers…I called Amanda right after the session and told her I knew they were having a boy and when he arrived, we were using some of Carls hunting trophies and gear in the newborn pictures.

Letty 1 Year

Columbia City Family Photographer, 1 year portraits, Family Portraits

Earlier this year I was a part of project to help raise money for LLS.  I photographed men and women from many of the Fort Wayne Fire Departments.  These photographs were used to create a calendar to help raise money to support a great cause.  The fundraiser comes to a close with a wonderful event that announces the winner (who raised the most money).  At this event there are silent auction items that are bid on.  This is how I met the Keena’s.  They bid on my silent auction item and won!

They decided to use the session to get portraits of their 1 year old little girl and some winter family pictures.  The Keena’s were absolutely amazing to photograph and their little girl was darling!  Because the session was scheduled for mid December we decided to shoot at the Botanical Gardens.  There are plenty of options for warm indoor shots as well as outdoors if the weather is mild.  The temperatures ended up being very reasonable and we ventured outdoors for much of the session.  These 1 year and winter family portraits turned out stunning!  I absolutely love all the candid shots.  Here are some of my favorites and of course you can view all the proofs from this 1 year portrait session here.
